I just couldn't resist letting all of you know of some new and exciting developments! Yesterday I received a call from Emmanuel Bouchard, and he has confirmed that he will be in attendance this year! For those of you that do not know, Emmanuel is a world champion footbag net player, with titles in singles, doubles and mixed doubles. This exciting turn of events was able to occur as Emmanuel's traveling footbag demo team will be in the area around the time of the Philly Open. Look for this to juice up the competition even more!! Also, I have talked with Peter Irish, and he is excited to return to the Philly Open to defend the title that he took last year with two flawless, and dropless routines. Peter is a many time world champion freestyler, and among the most exciting players to watch play the game! We are thrilled to have him back again this year. A few side notes.... Player packs are still limited to the first 45 players, and entry fees have been rolling in already- in other words, do not rely on waiting until the last moment, if you want to secure a players pack! Also, I have been getting emails asking about entry fees, directions, and hotel lodging. All this information is available at: http://www.footbag.org/calendar/show/947026077 Please look here first with any questions you may have. Thanks for listening, and I look forward to a huge turnout this year. Take care! Content-Type: text/plain; charset="us-ascii" ; format="flowed" Sender: owner-announce@footbag.org Hey, everyone. This is just a quick note to celebrate another milestone for footbag.org. Since I created the membership service in October of '99, we've consistently had high volumes of new users creating an account on the service. Today, I just approved our 1500th member! Of course, the way these free membership systems work on the internet, it's really hard to know how many of them are all valid (some people give false information, create multiple accounts, etc.). But still... 1500 is a great round number! If you haven't signed up yet, now's a good time. Footbag.org membership includes special access to the footbag member directory (where you can find your friends, or people with similar interests, in your area or a town you're visiting), as well as a sweet @footbag.org alias for life. (In other words, if you create an account foo, and register your real e-mail address in your profile, you can have mail sent to foo@footbag.org relayed to your real mail address -- for free, for life! And you can change it in one place whenever you change addresses, and your footbag.org address will go to the new location.) http://members.footbag.org/ will take you to the member section, where you can log in or create a new account if you have never used the member services before. (Note: if you have forgotten your password, just follow the instructions on the member login screen.) Steve
