A *million* thanks again to Vince Bradley for getting these computed, and of course to the entire Vancouver staff for making the event such a great success. Direct questions and errors to Vince since I have no idea how he figured this stuff out. :-) Please note that there *may* be errors so this is not final until it appears on the website. It will be an informal gathering of mostly East Coast kickers. It's not a tournament so there are no fees involved. Plus, it will be a welcoming event for the DC area's newest kicker, Amy Noller! Contact me (Jeff Bowling) or Vince Bradley to let us know you are coming so we can figure out where you can crash (Jeff's house, Jason & Ann's house, Matt's place, Neil's place, or maybe Amy's place). We are all spread out around the DC metropolitan area either in the city itself or its surrounding suburbs in MD and VA. Unlike Bob Riefer, none of us have the luxury of having a soccer field in our backyard so we will be kicking on the campus of the University of Maryland where there's lots of space and parking is plentiful. See the event posting at http://www.footbag.org/calendar/show/971218242 for more information like directions to UMD, parking info., and party info. Thanks and we hope we see you then, The D.C. The 2000 Texas State Championships are being held on Nov. 11-12 in Austin, TX. This is a prize money event and is open to all players. Events include net, freestyle, golf and timed consecs. Read on for details. As noted on the Events page, http://www.footbag.org/calendar/show/967817818, the event will again be held at the Zilker Park Rugby Fields (Front Gate) Austin, TX, USA. This is a great site for net and, if the weather is nice, this is a great place for freestyle. An indoor freestyle site should be available if the weather turns sour. Why should you come? I'm glad you asked. Though there has been recent discussion on this list about the death of a sport, you should see the Texas scene... New clubs are popping up around the state, and the existing clubs are drawing larger and larger crowds. At this year's event, you will see the long-standing Austin, Dallas and Houston crowds (including Tim Vozar, James Roberts, Tina Lewis, James Harley, Heather Thomas, Kyle Crawford, etc., etc.). You will also get a chance to see the new generation of Texas freestylers (James Gilbert and Windsen Pan to name a few). The newest footbag clubs from Ft. Worth and Brownsville will be represented as well - their first ever events. And, to round it all out, we are having some pros make the flight/drive. Sunil Jani (CA), Eli Piltz (CO), Steve Smith (IL), and Cory Current (IL) will be some of the big names from out-of-state. If you want to see a flyer for the event, you can go to - http://dallasfootbag.org/temp/Texas_State_Flyer.doc (sorry about the 1MB file size) And, if you want an entry for for preregistration, go to - http://www.dallasfootbag.org/temp/registrationTexasState.html (a much more manageable 4KB) If you want more details, write to Ariel Santesteban - ariel@footbag.org I'll see you all there. -Derric Dallas Footbag Club From owner-announce@list.footbag.org Mon Oct 23 21:57:43 2000 Received: (from majordom@localhost) by list.footbag.org (8.9.3/8.9.3) id VAA01992 for announce-outgoing; Mon, 23 Oct 2000 21:57:43 -0700 X-Authentication-Warning: list.footbag.org: majordom set sender to owner-announce@footbag.org using -f Received: from falcon.continet.com (ns1.continet.com [206.58.168.254]) by LLIC.Market.NET (8.9.3/8.9.3) with ESMTP id UAA26790 for ; Mon, 23 Oct 2000 20:08:05 -0700 Received: from LOCALNAME ([206.58.32.59]) by falcon.continet.com (Post.Office MTA v3.5.3 release 223 ID# 0-60955U4500L350S0V35) with SMTP id com for ; Mon, 23 Oct 2000 20:10:32 -0700 X-Sender: freefloe@continet.com X-Mailer: Windows Eudora Light Version 1.5.2 Mime-Version: 1.0 Content-Type: text/plain; charset="us-ascii" To: announce@footbag.org From: Becca English-Ross Subject: [announce] Halloween Tourney in Eugene this weekend Date: Mon, 23 Oct 2000 20:10:32 -0700 Message-ID: <20001024031032859.AAA312@falcon.continet.com@LOCALNAME> Sender: owner-announce@footbag.org Hey footbag friends and family, You are all invited to Eugene, Oregon this weekend to compete, play and party with us.
