Just a reminder that the Summer Classic is just around the corner and we would like to invite everyone to come to Harrisburg, Pa. on Labor Day weekend whether you are entering the event, just coming to kick or coming to spectate. It is our privilege to be having the East coast Hall of Fame induction ceremony Sunday night at the Appalachian Brewery at 7:30 PM. Everyone is welcome and encouraged to attend this event to honor those that have been leaders in the sport and have encouraged the growth of footbag through the years. The master of ceremony, Peter Irish, will be sure to make this event a highlight of the weekend. (No pressure Peter!!) We will be in contact with the Beaver Open who is having the West Coast Hall of Fame induction ceremony. Joe has talked about adding a master's net event on Saturday if there is interest. Another big highlight of the weekend will be the addition of the film crew from Kids Network TV from Toronto, Canada. They are doing a story about Jordan Moyer, an up and coming freestyler, who is traveling to his second tournament (the summer classic) in search of a title and to meet and kick with members of BAP (the big add posse). They will be arriving Sat night and filming Sunday. With all this fun stuff happening, how can you resist coming to the Summer Classic? Of course you can't. So just give in and get your feet here! Those entering the tournament can get applications sent to them, register Friday night at my house where the action is, or arrive at the site early Sat and register. Freestylers have until noon Sunday to register. Info and a tentative schedule is listed at http://www.footbag.org/events . Just a note that at the Hersheypark stadium Sat night just 15 minutes away, Kiss and Aerosmith will be playing in concert. You can buy a ticket to get in, pay to park in the lot and tail gate, or there may be an another option. I work security for the concerts and they will be short handed for that show since the college kids will be back at school. If you are interested in working the concert as a security person so you can get in the concert for free (we are a hands off security with any problems told to a supervisor who takes the problem in hand, so to speak), let me know. We would probably have to be at the stadium no later than 7- 7:30 PM (unless they are totally hard up for help) dressed in long black pants and black sneakers or shoes.
