Sender: owner-announce@footbag.org Hi folks. Just a quick reminder that the Western Regional Footbag Championships are THIS WEEKEND at Stanford University in Palo Alto, California. For complete details, see http://gregorio.stanford.edu/footbag/regionals.html We expect a pretty good turnout, so please try to help us by registering at the party on Friday night. If you have to register on Saturday, please be there by 8:30 and no later. Freestylers, even if you're not playing net, you need to register on time. If you can't be at the registration party or on the site by 8:30am on Saturday, *please* have someone register for you! We cannot guarantee to fit you in if you don't register on time. If you've already sent in your registration, it's still good to check and make sure we got it when you arrive at the site on Saturday. You'll also want to pick up your player's pack. If you mailed your registration after the deadline, we probably won't have it, so be ready to reregister. Remember -- this is a three day event. Finals in singles net are on Sunday afternoon; finals in freestyle and doubles net are on Monday afternoon! The full schedule is online and accurate. For directions to the registration party Friday night, please e-mail me. And yes, it looks like we will have a Saturday night player party after all! Western Regionals went off without a hitch this weekend in almost-perfect weather (except for some El Nino wind on Monday afternoon). The spectators were few this year, partly because we weren't able to do our usual high school demos, but the number of competitors was pretty much as expected. We had around 105 registered (intermediate and open) competitors, not counting the novice players. Here's how it came down. Detailed net results and a more complete breakdown of competitors by category will follow to the footbag list when we can get all that data together. --- 1998 WhoWhere?
