I couldn't make heads or tails of this article (the English was just too advanced for my limited reading skills :-)) but I thought it was funny how the writer used the term "hacky sack". In the article, http://www.nytimes.com/library/books/021000eggers-profile.html the author decides to use the phrase "laconic manner and speech patterns of a Venice Beach Hacky Sack player" to describe this Eggers character.
