With that in mind... Rest assured, Joe Solonoski was the man behind the idea for the first ever freestyle shred event and he held this for the first time ever at Funtastik in the early/mid nineties. Joe sought a little input from Kenny Shults I believe and myself. If I remember correctly, we mostly simply encouraged the idea... "yea, that's a cool idea, that would work... do it". This event was introduced with 4 other 'slam dunk' kind of footbag contests... the service poaching contest, ironman contest and some other contest I can't seem to remember right now.
