Peter and Lonn put together a super program. The Game Channel was there furiously filming and interviewing people all weekend. Two four squares and a large and small pin bag were going both days. Lots of shred circles. There were great net matches to watch. There were lots of competitors and tons of merchandise and cash prizes given away. I am sure everyone was real pleased! The signed freestyle shoes given to the top intermediate and pro freestyle winner was so special. Thank you to all the sponsors for your generosity. Your support and generosity is so important. The Master's net category was readily accepted and will be added to the schedule at the Summer Classic this year. Intermediate freestyle had tons of competitors and top performances, nonetheless a dropless. It was real special to have Rick Kauffman, Flash Kinsley and Steve Femmel there. I was lurking around looking for info on Prague and I have been using this map service called mapy.cz which I found on google. The banner ad at the top is 3 main frames and gives our date, location and sponsors list.... All with a footbag bouncing on the foot in animated gif fashion. I just had to write to the list. I say it is certainly impressive that here I am in Chicago looking for info about our event in Prague and it shows up randomly at the top of my browser as a banner ad. I'm flabbergasted. Great work! I hope it gets interest from the "potential spectators" as well. I feel special. I don't want to close this window on my browser for fear it won't have the banner ad the next time I load it. Oh, when you click the ad, it brings you right to the worlds website, nice. See ya there! It's kind of scary how well these guys in Prague promote footbag. You will be surprised, I think, how many people show up from the public to watch this thing. Now, the caveat -- in 2001 at the Euros, there were *throngs* of spectators, one of whom decided to cart off my precious backpack. So, watch your valuables in the presence of such a large public turn-out. >I don't want to close this window on my browser for fear it won't have the >banner ad the next time I load it. The tentative dates are the 1st or 2nd weekend in October. I have also recently met (finally) two of the other freestylers/net players (Errol and Benny) who go to school and have a club here in New Paltz. At this time we are anticipating both freestyle and net as part of the tournament. If I've already heard from you...THANK YOU. You're responses are making this happen. BUT... I would like to hear from more people both freestyle and net players who would be interested in attending. I'm trying to get an idea for the size of the place we will need, host hotel rooms, and players packs and such. My ultimate goal is to help the likes of Vince Bradley, Funtastik, and Philly footworks to make Footbag EXPLODE again on the East Coast. While New Paltz is a small town it does host a State University and has a good central location for many NY cities and east coast states. There is A LOT of footbag potential here. Let me hear from you (privately) and what events you are interested in. Thanks again, Brad
