You should always check the official tournament list on footbag.org before scheduling your event so that you can be sure you don't conflict with another event, though obviously you can choose to conflict if you are far from another tournament and don't expect a lot of folks to travel to your event. No matter what, please RESERVE YOUR DATES today by going to http://www.footbag.org/events/ and clicking on the "Add Event..." button on that page (after perusing the list to find available dates). Don't waste another day. As soon as you read this, go to the site and pick dates. If tentative, please just put "(tentative)" in the title of the event. The new footbag.org system works differently than before. Please do not use any old bookmarks for adding events. If you don't have an account yet on footbag.org, you need to create one (the "add event" button will take you into the registration/sign-in area at which point you can find your account or ask to create a new account). If you have an account, your listing will appear *immediately*. There is no longer a delay waiting for approvals. However, I reserve the right to edit or remove listings that appear to be jokes or that have glaring errors. In all cases I will let you know if I ever do such. As for sanctioning, the IFC (previously IFAB) is in the process of defining a data collection process for the coming year. So it is more important than ever that tournaments seek and obtain sanctioning so that they can participate in the data collection project. NON-SANCTIONED EVENTS WILL NOT BE ALLOWED TO PARTICIPATE. We will roll this process out just after the new year, but in short, players' detailed results at sanctioned tournaments will be recorded and tracked by the IFC as part of the seeding and ranking project, to help tournament directors and players get better visibility into players' rankings in net and freestyle. To apply for IFC sanctioning, please contact the World Footbag Association by e-mail to begin the process. They will send you the application materials and go over the requirements for sanctioning. PLEASE DO THIS NOW. E-mail wfa@worldfootbag.com and put "Sanctioning Request" in the subject line. Thanks. Steve
