I just wanted to let you know that there is a new shred video online at http://www.fcfootstar.de/videos/videos.htm . The whole video is split into intro shred 1 (germans) shred 2 (czechs:) outro I really recommend that you download them all and watch them in a row. You will need the DIVX codec. The footage is taken from the fifth anniversary of the "FcFootstar Berlin", the first footbag club in germany. It features Jan Zimmerman, Antonio Fritsch, Paul Cronjaeger and Jakob Wagner from germany as well as Ales Zelinka and Vasik Klouda hitting nice combos and big tricks like smog, pixie paradon, tapping ducking clipper, quantum butterfly swirl, fury, triple over down and spinning paradox whirling swirl. There are some funny scenes as well (thanks to my man dexter :) plus some juggling at the end. The music(apart from the outro)is done by Mineral (ilkkakurkela@hotmail.com). I appreciate any feedback.Thanks. It seems there is a shortage of on-line media (actually, media in general) representing the women shredders in our sport. If my actions are any indicator at all, then I know that there are women out there scouring the web for any little video or picture of another women freestyler that they can get their hands on. While there is an abyss of on-line media for the men freestylers, there is virtually nothing in comparison for women. Exposure is going to be the key for inspiring more women to play, which is important for the longevity of the sport! The site I've been working on is **www.shreditas.com**. It is in it's early stages so expect it's content to be increasing rapidly over of the next couple of weeks. Keep in mind, I have another full-time job to keep me busy, so the site is not glamorous--content is my focus!! In addition to this announcement, I'd like to make a call out to ANYONE (that means you ;-) who has pictures, videos, articles, art, or absolutely anything related to women and freestyle. I'd love to publish anything made available to me for the site that is appropriate. The more people the contribute, the more diverse the site can be. You can email contributions to info@shreditas.com -- eventually, you'll be able to upload files at www.shreditas.com, but for now, you can just email them to me. If you walk over so that your zipper stall is now in front of you just like a normal toe stall.- that would be unzipping. I think I could hit Zipper stall to zoid set paradox mirage to toe walkover to unzipping atomic mirage. I, for one, like the term Zipper, the way ones legs tend to rub together is like that of a zipper and the clipper reference is right on. But what about Tipper, to me it would imply the tip-toe nature of the move. On the other hand Zipper would share the Z with Zoid. Also I fully agree with getting an unusual surface add. The catch feels more like a sole stall than it does a toe stall, and it looks really funky. There will be a PHAT tournament in Montreal this year again. All the info is on footbag.org of course but I have taken the most important stuff and put it all in 1 short e-mail. Here we go. Monstreal Summer Challenge 3rd edition Montreal, Canada Saturday May 31 2003 with shred sessions on Friday and Sunday 1. Flash, Hurricane, Fiend, and Galactic will bust throughout the week-end. (That meant Scott Bevier, Sebastien Duchesne, Yacine Merzouk, and Eli Piltz) 2. We have the best venue ever. 425 seats. We expect to be sold out. 3. Everything is DOWNTOWN Montreal: tournament, restaurants, hotel, shred spots. 4. 800$ in prize money. 5. Player's party on Saturday: no cover charge, 1$/beer. Sounds good to me. 6. You have to be 18 to drink, not 21. 7. If you're not 18 you'll most likely get in anyway but we have a place secured for you to shred your ass off and/or party if you can't. 8. It's a 1-day competition so we can all shred and enjoy ourselves on Friday and Sunday. 9. In Canada, we use Canadian money! That means that you give us 6US$ and we give you 10CAN$! 10. If you live in Canada that means you won't have to change your money to US currency. We're working hard to bring you the best tournament for the players and crowd alike. So we need to charge and entry fee. 40$ for competitors - it includes players pack, 1 ticket to the show, and sideline shred fee (30$ value). For non-competitors, we ask for 10$ to pay for the shred spots we secured in case of rain. You will also have to pay for a ticket if you want to see the show : 9$. So you might as well compete in my opinion. It's all about having fun anyway. No pressure. All prices in CAN$. I'm out. Let me know if you need more details -Yacine http://www.footbag.org/events/show/1045628278 From owner-freestyle@footbag.org Sun Mar 30 23:55:23 2003 Received: from llic.net (localhost [127.0.0.1]) by llic.net (8.12.3/8.12.3/Debian-5) with ESMTP id h2V7tNcl013003 for ; Sun, 30 Mar 2003 23:55:23 -0800 Received: (from majordom@localhost) by llic.net (8.12.3/8.12.3/Debian-5) id h2V7tNGX013001 for freestyle-outgoing@list.footbag.org; Sun, 30 Mar 2003 23:55:23 -0800 X-Authentication-Warning: llic.net: majordom set sender to owner-freestyle@footbag.org using -f Received: from pd4mr2so.prod.shaw.ca (pd4mr2so-qfe3.prod.shaw.ca [10.0.141.213]) by l-daemon (iPlanet Messaging Server 5.1 HotFix 0.8 (built May 12 2002)) with ESMTP id <0HBM005LILJG1Q@l-daemon> for freestyle@list.footbag.org; Wed, 12 Mar 2003 00:45:16 -0700 (MST) Received: from pn2ml2so.prod.shaw.ca (pn2ml2so-qfe0.prod.shaw.ca [10.0.121.146]) by l-daemon (iPlanet Messaging Server 5.1 HotFix 0.8 (built May 12 2002)) with ESMTP id <0HBM00LEOLJGF5@l-daemon> for freestyle@list.footbag.org; Wed, 12 Mar 2003 00:45:16 -0700 (MST) Received: from a1.footbag.org (h24-80-137-206.no.shawcable.net [24.80.137.206]) by l-daemon (iPlanet Messaging Server 5.1 HotFix 0.8 (built May 12 2002)) with ESMTP id <0HBM002AYLJFX5@l-daemon> for freestyle@list.footbag.org; Wed, 12 Mar 2003 00:45:16 -0700 (MST) Date: Tue, 11 Mar 2003 23:43:19 -0800 From: Allan Haggett Subject: [freestyle] Symposium in Multi-dex Moves X-Sender: allan@llic.net To: freestyle@list.footbag.org Message-id: <5.2.0.9.0.20030311234144.00b5c320@llic.net> MIME-version: 1.0 X-Mailer: QUALCOMM Windows Eudora Version 5.2.0.9 Content-type: text/plain; charset=us-ascii Content-transfer-encoding: 7BIT X-Scanned-By: Spam Scanner (MIMEDefang 2.21, footbag edition) Sender: owner-freestyle@footbag.org Yo y'all, Sunil Jani posted this on the Flipsider Forum and I thought it was worth mentioning here. Tsunami writes: I was trying to come up with a way to denote symposium in multidex moves... for example... if you do a quad dex with each dex alternating (eg. blurry blurry blur)... frontside and backside symposium do not suffice. Originally I started called them by the dex # of the move, but now I think it is far better (and educational) to denote them by the corresponding letter in the Greek alphabet. By my refined nomenclature symposium 3 would be called gamma symposium. The Walrus = Gamma Symposium Clownface = Barraging Paradox Symposium Eggbeater. Symposium 1 Clownface would be called Alpha Symposium Clownface. A multidex move with all dexes symposium could be referred to simply as full symposium. An example would be a Symposium Barraging Superfly or Full Symposium Nemesis. Move with multiple symposiums, but not full symposium would just be referred to by the corresponding letters... ie Symposium Atomic Miraging Symposium Mirage would be referred to as Alpha Gamma Bisymposium Atomic Blur. Its wordy and complex any way you go about it... I highly suggest that moves like this get official (shorter) names. In case you don't know... the following would cover up to six dex moves: Dex# = Corresponding Greek Letter 1 = alpha 2 = beta 3 = gamma 4 = delta 5 = epsilon 6 = zeta Of course, once someone hits a 25 dex move with a symposium in it... then this system would need to be refined again. Edit: I forgot to mention than when doing multisymposium (but not full) moves, the level of symposiumness can be denoted by just saying bisymposium, trisyposium, etc. From owner-freestyle@footbag.org Mon Mar 31 15:40:34 2003 Received: from llic.net (localhost [127.0.0.1]) by llic.net (8.12.3/8.12.3/Debian-5) with ESMTP id h2VNeYpi014651 for ; Mon, 31 Mar 2003 15:40:34 -0800 Received: (from majordom@localhost) by llic.net (8.12.3/8.12.3/Debian-5) id h2VNeYP3014649 for freestyle-outgoing@list.footbag.org; Mon, 31 Mar 2003 15:40:34 -0800 X-Authentication-Warning: llic.net: majordom set sender to owner-freestyle@footbag.org using -f Received: from mail pickup service by hotmail.com with Microsoft SMTPSVC; Mon, 31 Mar 2003 15:18:23 -0800 Received: from 64.229.8.119 by sea1fd.sea1.hotmail.msn.com with HTTP; Mon, 31 Mar 2003 23:18:23 GMT X-Originating-IP: [64.229.8.119] X-Originating-Email: [xndru_@hotmail.com] From: "Andrew Weglarz" To: freestyle@footbag.org Subject: Re: [freestyle] Symposium in Multi-dex Moves Date: Mon, 31 Mar 2003 18:18:23 -0500 Mime-Version: 1.0 Content-Type: text/plain; format=flowed Message-ID: X-OriginalArrivalTime: 31 Mar 2003 23:18:23.0876 (UTC) FILETIME=[D38A7440:01C2F7DB] X-Scanned-By: Spam Scanner (MIMEDefang 2.21, footbag edition) Sender: owner-freestyle@footbag.org Hey all, I think that's an excellent idea but how would symposium double dexes be denoted? take a stepping superfly. Beta Gamma Symposium Blurriest would imply that the second and third dexes are separately symposium. If there was something else like homogeneous beta gamma ... to show that it's all done at once. Tell me what you think. Easy all, Andrew
