I recently bought an Abshire bag in Las Vegas. To all of you who don't know, Richard not only sews great bags, but he is also a prime candidate for BAP in Chicago this year. Richard, if you are on this list, please get in touch with me... if not, does anyone else know of a way I can get in touch with him? Maybe others can help me here. Richard was telling me of a place in Colorado (I think) that will let you mail order facile. I'm tired of my bags falling apart because of crappy fabric. He said that the key is finding a place that doesn't store facile on those big rolls. Appearantly, when it is rolled up, it is stretched to the point of being unusable. I want - no, I NEED - good facile. Let me know. -Derric Dallas Footbag Club From owner-sewing@eniac.yak.net Tue Mar 23 21:31:02 1999 Received: (from majordom@localhost) by eniac.yak.net (8.9.3/8.9.3) id VAA20326 for sewing-outgoing; Tue, 23 Mar 1999 21:31:02 GMT X-Authentication-Warning: eniac.yak.net: majordom set sender to owner-sewing using -f Message-ID: <36F80C7B.5CA9@utdallas.edu> Date: Tue, 23 Mar 1999 15:49:47 -0600 From: Derric Scalf Reply-To: scalf@utdallas.edu X-Mailer: Mozilla 3.0 (Win95; I) MIME-Version: 1.0 To: sewing@footbag.org Subject: [sewing] Bag collections Content-Type: text/plain; charset=us-ascii Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit Sender: owner-sewing@footbag.org I know that there are many people in the footbag community that sew. I would like to know who would be interrested in some kind of a trade of cool bags. I talked to Chard Cook (sp?) last worlds and he said he was interrested in making a trade sometime. Chard, if you are on the list, you should know that I plan on bringing between 5 and 10 bags to worlds that are very original designs. The main problem right now is that my bags fall apart if you try to kick them - see my last post about fabric. They are great to look at, but until I find a decent source of facile, I hate to trade with anyone. Also, who would be interrested in trading patterns? I have a web site http://www.dallasfootbag.org where I could post pictures of bags or patterns if there is any intrest. Again, let me know. -Derric Dallas Footbag Club From owner-sewing@eniac.yak.net Wed Mar 24 15:50:05 1999 Received: (from majordom@localhost) by eniac.yak.net (8.9.3/8.9.3) id PAA22493 for sewing-outgoing; Wed, 24 Mar 1999 15:50:05 GMT X-Authentication-Warning: eniac.yak.net: majordom set sender to owner-sewing using -f Message-Id: <199903241548.KAA25797@mbs.valinet.com> Reply-To: From: "Daniel Botkin" To: Subject: Re: [sewing] Bag collections Date: Wed, 24 Mar 1999 10:52:32 -0500 X-MSMail-Priority: Normal X-Priority: 3 X-Mailer: Microsoft Internet Mail 4.70.1157 MIME-Version: 1.0 Content-Type: text/plain; charset=ISO-8859-1 Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit Sender: owner-sewing@footbag.org Derric and Sewing List, > > I know that there are many people in the footbag community that sew. I've got no new designs on line yet this year but the winged bags (http://www.valinet.com/~dbotkin/custom.html) are still real popular around here as is the "stars and teardrops" 12 panel. The main problem right now is that my > bags fall apart if you try to kick them... You mean the panel material fails? Have you tried the source on my website? http://www.ultrascraps.com > > Also, who would be interrested in trading patterns? Yes, indeed. Trading patterns is like sharing heirloom seed varieties (one of my other passions...). It's beneficial to everyone and promotes the craft. Mine also are all available, as ever.
